Caitie posted on the article “Gaming is for Grown-Ups” on ClickZ Stats. She mentioned how she had no idea how expansive the video game market really is. Most people, even video game developers, are the same. This is why Nintendo’s new console, the Nintendo Wii, has been so successful. Instead of being marketing to males age 22-35 like the xbox and Playstation 3, it is marketed towards boys, girls, men, women age 4-94. Nintendo really did it’s homework on this one and realized that instead of just trying to make a flashier, more technologically advanced system for the same group of people, it would develop a system anyone and everyone would like to play.

    It worked.

Nintendo has been trumping its competition in terms of sales. This is truly a system for everyone. Heck, even my grandmother was able to pick it up and play last Thanksgiving.

Your grandmother may have been able to pick up and play the wii, but she will never buy one.

who cares if people are able to use a product but they’ll never purchase it? the wii, even though it is fun. it really just a gimmick that’s likely to get old really soon.

also no HD support, i guess gamers don’t want that, just like they didn’t want online gaming on the gamecube.

nintendo really has a grasp on the future

    “Perception is reality,” my friend.

Nintendo is selling more. People are playing the wii. Their market is expanding.

Nintendo is on the right track.
